Last week, the filming of the Architects Brazil series took place in the countryside of São Paulo. The first project recorded for this episode was the EA Residence, selected by the Jacobsen Arquitetura firm. Over two days of filming, we had the presence of the firm's three partners, who came together to share their perspectives on this remarkable project.

Gallery is an institution dedicated to preserving, researching, and sharing stories about art, architecture, and design. Through original audiovisual productions—including documentaries, series, and digital archives—Gallery builds a unique global repository, ensuring that the great narratives of contemporary architecture are documented, shared, and made available for future generations.
The EA Residence is a countryside home located in a residential condominium in Porto Feliz, São Paulo. Designed for a couple, their children, and grandchildren, the residence explores the physical and visual permeability of spaces, integrating harmoniously with the landscape. Situated on a vast plot of land, the house establishes a fluid dialogue with nature, maintaining the lightness and serenity of a country home while embracing luxury and sophistication.
The highlight of the project is a spacious open living room, offering privileged views: on one side, overlooking the swimming pool; on the other, a striking ornamental pond with koi fish. The residence features a predominantly rectangular volumetric composition, structured to separate the family wing from the guest wing, ensuring greater privacy and comfort.
Integration with nature is one of the project’s core principles. A central garden in the living area and open corridors enhance the connection between architecture and the natural surroundings, elegantly fulfilling the intent of seamlessly embedding the structure into the landscape. The EA Residence exemplifies this fluid and integrated architectural approach, a defining characteristic of Jacobsen Arquitetura’s work.

The filming featured the participation of partners Paulo Jacobsen, Bernardo Jacobsen, and Edgar Murata, who each provided individual testimonials to compose the episode's narrative, in addition to being captured in scenes interacting with and exploring the project.

This gathering of the three partners was also documented at the Jacobsen Arquitetura headquarters. The Gallery team visited the firm’s office to capture footage of the team's daily routine and record moments of the architects in their creative environment, showcasing their processes and talents. The next filming session for this episode is scheduled for the first week of April in Angra dos Reis.
